Today, in the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, the meeting was held between Mr. Yury Chaika, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, with Mr. Tamas Kovacs, the Public Prosecutor General of the Republic of Hungary.
Top officials of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the Director of the Prosecutor's Office of the city of Bacs Kis-Kun (Hungary) and the Charge d'Affairs ad interim of the Republic of Hungary participated in the meeting.
Mr. Yury Chaika, who was welcoming Mr. Tamas Kovacs, emphasized that owing to the personal participation of Mr. T. Kovacs, interdepartmental cooperation was successfully activated both on the bilateral basis and in multi-lateral format, including in the Consultative Council of the European Prosecutors and in the International Association of Prosecutors. The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation expressed his confidence that cooperation would remain very successful in the future as well.
In his turn, Mr. Tamas Kovacs expressed gratitude to Mr. Yury Chaika for the opportunity to visit the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and to discuss the topical interdepartmental issues.
In particular, the parties discussed the issues of implementation of the Cooperation Program between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Hungary for 2009-2011, which was signed in Budapest in October 2007.
Mr. Yury Chaika stated that the seminar on rendering legal assistance in criminal matters, which was held in December 2009, and the meeting which took place in March 2010 in order to share experience on training and advanced qualification training of the personnel were highly and positively evaluated by the participants both of the Russian and Hungarian parties. "No doubt, the Program of Joint Actions, implemented by us, will contribute to the improvement of efficiency of our activities in the sphere of protection of human and citizens' rights and freedoms and also in the sphere of combat against crime,' underlined the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
Mr. Tamas Kovacs expressed his confidence that the meeting which took place would contribute to increase in efficiency of professional links and development of the dialogue on a wide range of legal issues.
