Prosecutor General of Russia had a meeting with Prosecutor General of the Arab Republic of Egypt

A meeting between the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov and the Prosecutor General of the Arab Republic of Egypt Hamada El Sawy was held in Cairo today.

Greeting his foreign colleague, Igor Krasnov thanked him for the warm welcome of the Russian delegation and perfect organization of the visit.

The head of the Russian supervisory agency noted with great satisfaction that the ongoing constructive cooperation between the prosecution services of the two countries continues to be strengthened, “It is fully in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership course set by the leaders of Russia and Egypt.”

Igor Krasnov noted that, after signing the cooperation program in Saint Petersburg last year, a number of bilateral events have already been held in Moscow and Cairo. Russian and Egyptian prosecutors exchanged experiences in countering cybercrime, criminal turnover of cryptocurrencies, and protection of the rights of entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, officers of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia, within the framework of the visit, took part in a joint round table in Cairo on topical issues of international legal cooperation, including the transnational fight with information crime and laundering proceeds of crime.

“Such meetings are of great practical benefit,” Igor Krasnov emphasized. – Therefore, I propose to intensify this kind of exchange of experience.”

An Egyptian delegation is to visit Moscow in June to discuss the best practices in the sphere of countering extremism and terrorism. “I am confident that this theme is of a special interest for Russia and Egypt,” the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation said. – Joint events are also forthcoming on issues of equal importance connected with countering corruption, illegal migration, and human trafficking.”

Igor Krasnov stressed the significant potential of implementation of joint projects in the educational and the scientific spheres, and proposed to conclude an agreement on cooperation of the specialized universities of the two countries, “This will allow for exchange of scientific delegations on a systematic basis, including for holding educational events.”

In conclusion, Igor Krasnov thanked Hamada El Sawy for constructive approach to building the agencies’ partnership on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other’s positions, and wished the foreign colleague, his staff, as well as the whole people of Egypt, prosperity and well-being.
