The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan has issued a sentence in a criminal case against two residents of Tatarstan: Ms. Veronika Lebedeva was found guilty under Part 7 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), Mr. Denis Asfandyarov - under Part 5 of Article 33, Part 7 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (aiding and abetting the commission of fraud).
According to the investigation, from January 2017 to January 2018, Ms. Lebedeva, being the founder and director general of Kerami LLC, with the assistance of the company's commercial director Mr. Denis Asfandyarov, acting in collusion with unidentified persons, fraudulently acquired the right to the property of other commercial organizations worth more than 67 million rubles.
The woman entered into contracts with the aforementioned companies for the supply of building materials, received advance payments in full from them in the form of 29 apartments in Kazan, however subsequently failed to fulfill her obligations.
Mr. Asfandyarov assisted his accomplice and made calls to buyers, frequented the construction site, did the apartment showing, presented documents regarding them, and participated in the conclusion of contracts between Ms. Lebedeva and the buyers.
In November 2019, during the preliminary investigation, the accomplices absconded from the state bodies. Their whereabouts were then established in Brazil, and in June 2024, Mr. Asfandyarov and Ms. Lebedeva were extradited to Russia for the purpose of their criminal prosecution at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
The court sentenced Ms. Lebedeva to 6 years and 1 month of imprisonment with a fine of 500 thousand rubles, Mr. Asfandyarov - to 6 years of imprisonment with a fine of 400 thousand rubles. They will be serving their sentences in a general regime penal colony.

Two residents of Tatarstan extradited from Brazil at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office convicted of fraud in the amount of over 67 million rubles
