On August 27, 2008, upon request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for extradition, the competent authorities of the Republic of Hungary will extradite Russian citizen Valery Burykin to Russia.
The investigative authorities charged V.Burykin with the commission of crimes envisaged by Article 209, part 1, Article 30, part 3, Article 105, part 2, paras. “a”, “g”, “h”, “j”, Article 105, part 2 “g”, “h”, “j” (establishment of a sustainable armed formation (gang) and commission of murders) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case against V.Burykin is under investigation by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee under the Public Prosecution Service of the Russian Federation for St.Petersburg.
The investigative authorities discovered that during 1995-2000 V.Burykin participated in establishment of a sustainable armed formation (gang) in order to control financial and economic activities of the system of municipal morgues, commit murders and other grave and especially grave crimes.
In October 2007, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation transmitted a request for extradition of V.Burykin to the competent authorities of the Republic of Hungary.
In July 2008, a decision on his extradition to Russia was carried out.
Today V.Burykin has been extradited to Russia under the escort of the Russian Interpol Bureau and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia officers.
