Upon request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Sweden have extradited today Russian citizen Konstantin Osytin to Russia.
The investigative authorities charged K.Osytin with the commission of crimes large-scale drug trafficking crimes under Article 30, part 3, Article 228.1, part 3, para. “d” (two criminal episodes) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
It was established that in March 2007, K.Osytin repeatedly attempted to traffic a large consignment of drugs in the town of Perm: 5 packages of methamphetamine and 105 tablets containing MDMA. The criminal case against K.Osytin is under examination by the Motovilikhinsky District Court of the town of Perm, Perm Region.
In October 2007, K.Osytin was put on federal wanted list, and in November 2008 - on international wanted list. In January 2009, K.Osytin was detained on the territory of the Kingdom of Sweden.
In February 2009, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation filed a request for extradition of K.Osytin to the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Sweden, which was satisfied in June 2009.
This fact proves that the tendency in strengthening of co-operation between the Russian and Swedish law-enforcement authorities in extradition matters sustained in recent years, continues.
Konstantin Osytin has been extradited today to Russia under the escort of the Russian Interpol Bureau and the Federal Penitentiary Service officers.

Extradition of Russian Citizen Konstantin Osytin, Charged with Large-Scale Drug Trafficking, from Sweden to Russia
