In the walls of the General Prosecutor’s office of the Russian Federation a Russian-Spanish seminar on the issues of cooperation in the field of extradition and legal assistance in criminal cases started its work

Today in the General Prosecutor’s office of the Russian Federation a Russian-Spanish seminar on the issues of cooperation in the sphere of extradition and legal assistance in criminal matters started its work.

From the Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation the seminar was participate by the head of Department on supervision over investigation of especially important cases of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation Igor Myasnikov, acting head of the Department for supervision over execution of the legislation on prevention of corruption Aslan Yusufov and other officers of the General Prosecutor's office of Russia.

Foreign delegation is represented by the Prosecutor of the special Prosecutor's office for struggling against corruption and organized criminality of the Kingdom of Spain Jose Miguel Alonso Kabajo, the Prosecutor of the special Prosecutor's office for struggling against corruption and organized criminality of the Kingdom of Spain Juan Jose Rosa Alvarez and Deputy Director of international cooperation Department of the Ministry of justice of the Kingdom of Spain Antonio Romero Reinare.

Opening the work of the seminar, Igor Myasnikov expressed hope for successful and fruitful work with the foreign counterparts in the framework of the event.

After that the officers of General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation gave their topical reports. In the course of their discussions there were touched the issues of execution, on the territory of the Russian Federation, of the requests of the competent authorities of foreign countries for legal assistance in criminal matters, transfer of trial proceedings in criminal matters as well as the practices and problems of conclusion and cancellation of pre-trial agreements on cooperation in accordance with the Russian criminal-procedural legislation. Then the participants of the seminar exchanged opinions on a wide range of issues.

The continuation of the work of the seminar is planned for tomorrow. Aslan Yusufov will be reporting on the topic "Detection, arrest, confiscation and return of monetary funds, received as an outcome of committing crimes, from abroad". The participants of the seminar are planning to discuss some other issues after which the completion the event is foreseen.
