- The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation
Today, upon the request of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain are extraditing to Russia a citizen of the Russian Federation Vladimir Zyabkin. He is accused of committing the crime foreseen by part 4 of article 228 (illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, transportation and sale of drugs in especially large size) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (in edition of the Federal law №63-FZ dated June 13th, 1996).
The criminal case against Zyabkin is in the execution stage of the Kirov district court of the city of Omsk.
It is determined that in July 2003 Zyabkin purchased and then sold out a lot of heroin.
Due to the fact that Zyabkin disappeared and hidden from the bodies of preliminary investigation, in May 2004 he was declared in Federal search and in March 2005 he was placed into the international wanted list. In April 2009 was detained on the territory of the Kingdom of Spain.
In may 2009 the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation forwarded to the Ministry of justice of the Kingdom of Spain a request about his extradition.
As a result of close and well planned cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain the Spanish side carried out the decision about approval of the petition for extradition of Zyabkin to the Russian Federation for bringing to the criminal resposibility.
Today, accompanied by the employees of the FSIN (Federal Service of Execution of Punishment) of Russia and the Russian Bureau of Interpol, Zyabkin is extradited to Russia.
