On March 27th, 2012 in the General Prosecutor's office of Russia a meeting of the General prosecutor of the Russian Federation Mr. Yury Chaika and the General prosecutor of Mongolia Mr. Dambiyn Dorligjav took place.
The meeting was also attended by senior officers of the General Prosecutor's offices of Russia and Mongolia, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Mongolia in the Russian Federation Mr. Dolonjingiyn Idevhten.
In his opening speech, Mr. Yury Chayka highly appreciated the fruitful long-term cooperation with the competent authorities of Mongolia in the issues of strengthening of legality, law and order and ensuring rights and interests of citizens of the two countries.
He also noted that the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft of a new Agreement with consideration of changes that taken place in the legislation of the Russian Federation from the moment of signing of the previous cooperation Agreement (in 1997).
The draft of the new Agreement provides for cooperation in such actual directions as extradition and legal assistance in criminal issues, fighting against criminality, including its organized forms, terrorism, corruption, illegal trafficking of weapons, narcotic drugs, crimes in the economic sphere and high technologies and other types of crimes, making a great threat for the society, as well as preparation and improvement of professional skills of the staff for the bodies and institutions of the Prosecutor's offices.
In the nearest future Russian draft of Agreement will be sent to the Mongolian side.
In his turn, the General Prosecutor of Mongolia expressed his gratitude to Mr. Yury Chayka for the reception, and also for the opportunity to discuss issues of training of Mongolian prosecutors at educational institutions of the Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation.
Mr. Dambiyn Dorligjav especially emphasized, that nowadays the problem of improvement of qualification for Mongolian prosecutors is particularly relevant and therefore, they actively study the experiences of foreign colleagues. He highly appreciated the level of training of lawyers in Russia and expressed hope for an early resolution of the issues relating to the organization of training of the representatives of Mongolian Prosecutor's office.
In conclusion, the parties expressed confidence that the meeting will contribute to the development of good-neighborly relations and strengthening of the bilateral co-operation.
