18-th Annual conference of the International Association of Prosecutors has completed its work in Moscow.
This conference has become a key event of the year for global prosecutorial community.
On the margins of the conference, numerous bilateral and multi-sided meetings between partners from different countries took place, in the course of which the issues of practical cooperation were discussed and series of cooperation documents were signed.
Within the framework of discussion of a common topic «The Prosecutor and the Rule of Law» the issues of prosecutorial activities beyond criminal-legal sphere were examined for the first time.
By drawing up the summary, it was mentioned that prosecution bodies all over the world possess huge potential of development and cooperation.
Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chayka made a concluding speech. He noted that the forum in Moscow enabled to conduct open dialogue concerning matters of prosecutorial activities of both conceptual and practical nature, share experience, discuss the ways of solution of common problems, settle new and develop already existing professional and personal contacts.
Information, gathered in the course of discussions, shall permit to comprehend creatively the experience of foreign colleagues and encourage the development of national prosecutorial systems.
Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation gratified the participants for active involvement in the Forum of Prosecutors and expressed peculiar gratitude to former President of the International Association of Prosecutors James Hamilton, Secretary General of the International Association of Prosecutors Dirk Coopers and officials of Secretariat of the organization for active support in preparation and execution of Moscow conference.
Newly elected President of the International Association of Prosecutors Gerhard Yarosh and Secretary General of the International Association of Prosecutors Dirk Coopers also had a word.
During the closing ceremony Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chayka solemnly handed over the flag of the International Association of Prosecutors to Prosecutor of UAE Yusif Almutava. Next 19-th annual conference of the International Association of Prosecutors will be held in Dubai in 2014.
