Supreme Court of the Russian Federation found legal the decision of Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation deputy, Alexander Zvyagintsev, on extradition of the Kyrgyz Republic citizen

Judicial division for criminal cases of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation considered the appeal petition of Ravil Zaripov, the Kyrgyz Republic citizen, against decision of the Chelyabinsk region court. 

Earlier, on the 19th of December, 2012, Mr. Zaripov had been apprehended in the Chelyabinsk region. He had been wanted by law-enforcement authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic for fraud commitment and a formal document forgery. 

Due to this fact on the 8th of August, 2013, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation deputy, Alexander Zvyagintsev, issued a decree to approve the inquiry from Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation on his extradition for further prosecution. 

Mr.Zaripov did not agree with such a decision and appealed against it. 

The Chelyabinsk region court decided to dismiss his appeal. 

Having hearing the submissions of the appellant and his attorney, the Court of Appeal agreed with the case of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation representative on legitimacy of the made decision about extradition and left the court decision as it was. 

The court decision came into legal force.
