Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika met with President of People's Supreme Court of Cuba Ruben Remigio Ferro

Today, December 11, 2013, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chaika met with President of People's Supreme Court of Cuba Ruben Remigio Ferro at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. 

Participants of the meeting also were leading officials of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Russian Federation Emilio Ratmir Lozada Garcia. 

The delegation was in Moscow at the invitation of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. 

Welcoming the guest, Yury Chaika stated that Russia and Cuba enjoy friendly warm relations, based on mutual interest in strengthening of international security and scaling up strategic partnership between the countries, they actively cooperate not only in bilateral format, but also within the framework of international organizations. 

The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation reminded participants that close working cooperation had been established in the core activities of bodies and agencies of prosecutor's offices, which is in accordance with the Agreement for cooperation between prosecutor's offices of Russia and Cuba, concluded in October, 2011, during visit of Attorney General of the Republic of Cuba Dario Delgado Cura to Moscow. The Cooperation Program between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Cuba for 2012-2013 has been successfully implemented. Issue on preparation of Cooperation Program for the next two-year period is being discussed. 

Furthermore, as Yury Chaika stated, in June this year delegation of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation had visited Havana to participate in the meeting on exchange of experience in training and advanced training for staff. 

At the end of the meeting the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation once again emphasized the importance of bilateral relations, which promote achievement of real results in combating crime and guarantee the rights of citizens, he also confirmed the focus on their further development.
