The Prosecutor General's Office and judicial instances of Ukraine satisfied the request of Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Zvyagintsev on extradition of Russian citizen Nikolay Kravchenko to Russia, which had been sent in March 2013.
Investigative agencies accuse him of committing crimes, referred to in article 163, paragraph 3 (b) (extortion, i.e. the demand that other people's property or their right to property should be transferred, or that other acts of a property nature should be performed under threat of violence committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy for the purpose of obtaining property on a large scale) of the CC of the RF (Federal law as amended on June 13, 1996, No. 63-ФЗ), article 163, paragraph 3 (b) (extortion, i.e. the demand that other people's property or their right to property should be transferred, or that other acts of a property nature should be performed under threat of violence committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy for the purpose of obtaining property on a large scale) of the CC of the RF (Federal law as amended on Dec 18, 2003, No. 162-ФЗ), article 17, paragraphs "d", "n" article 102 (organization of intentional aggravated homicide, i.e. homicide, committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy in a way, which was dangerous for many people) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic (Federal law as amended on Apr 24, 1995 No. 61-ФЗ).
Criminal case against Kravchenko for committing two crimes, referred to in article 163, paragraph 3 (b) of the CC of the RF, is pending by the investigative section of the Main Directorate of the MIA of Russia for the Northwestern Federal District.
Criminal case against Kravchenko for committing the crime, referred to in article 17, article 102, paragraphs "d", "n", of the Criminal Code of the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic is pending by the investigation department of the Investigative
Committee of the Russian Federation for Novgorod Oblast. According to the charges, Kravchenko is one of the leaders of criminal environment in Novgorod Oblast. Criminal cases, being investigated against him, are of high public interest and of big importance for decriminalization of Novgorod Oblast.
In the near future Kravchenko will be extradited by Ukrainian colleagues and convoyed to pretrial detention facility at the place of pre-trial investigation.
