Today, on July 3, 2014, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Thailand will deport the Russian citizen Aleksandr Matusov to Russia. He is accused of committing crimes under Art. 15 Part 2, Art.17 Part 2, and Art. 102 paragraphs e, g (attempted premeditated murder of more than two persons committed by an organized group in a manner dangerous to the lives of many people), Art. 17.1 Part 2 and Art. 102 paragraph g (premeditated murder of two persons committed by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR.
The criminal proceedings against Matusov are conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
The investigation found that in November 1996, in Sverdlovskiy Village, Shchelkovskiy District, Moscow Region, Matusov together with other members of an organized criminal group made an attempt upon the life and committed the murder of several individuals near the cafe Gorodishche.
Since the defendant Matusov ran away from the investigating authorities, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation took some measures to launch the international search (in June 2010, he was put on the federal wanted list, and in August 2010 – on the international wanted list).
Also, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Thailand and National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation took measures to deport Matusov to Russia.
Today, Aleksandr Matusov will be deported to Russia accompanied by officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the Russian Bureau of Interpol.
