Today, on 15 November 2019, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are extraditing Murat Polat to Russia.
He is accused of the crime under article 131 (2 “b”) (rape, combined with the threat of murder) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to investigation, in September 2009, at night in the city of Lipetsk, Polat raped a woman threatening to kill her.
Since Polat hid from the preliminary investigation, he was first put on the federal wanted list and then on the international wanted list.
In July 2019, he was detained in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thereafter, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition to the competent authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the view of his criminal prosecution. In October 2019, the request was granted.
Murat Polat will be delivered to Moscow accompanied by a special convoy.

A citizen accused of rape was extradited to Russia from Bosnia and Herzegovina
